Rausch Brothers Monument Company, Inc. has been a family owned corporation for over fifty-five years. It has been owned and operated by the Rausch family since 1948. Members of the first generation of Rauschs were stockholders and incorporators of Big Stone Bank and Steiner Rausch Quarry as well as the monument company. Michael Rausch, the company’s President has been with the business since 1978. The business has been primarily selling monuments and statues, but in 1997 they diversified by adding granite counter top sales. Between 1997 and 2003, Rausch Brothers Monument Company continued to expand the business six times. They needed to do it right and set themselves up for the future.
Rausch Brothers Monument Company, Inc. obtained a SBA PCLP 504 loan from Prairieland EDC to add a 7,500 square foot addition to house the expanding production needs. They also added two Yukon Bridge saws and a Marmo Meccanica line polisher.
Rausch Brothers Monument Company has continued to increase their technology, sales and employees. This project resulted in the creation and retention of over 47 jobs and an increased tax base to the local community. They have opened branch offices in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Aberdeen, South Dakota and Sheldon, Iowa. They have also expanded their market area to Iowa and Wisconsin.
